This item refers to an article in last week's "The Saturday Paper" by Paul Bongiorno titled "The facts according to Peter Dutton".

Starts -"Parliament's last sitting fortnight of the year is off to a depressing start for anyone deluded enough, to think our politicians put national interest ahead of their own." Further- "The over-riding preoccupation of the temporary residents in the big house on Capital Hill is, who will get to run the place in six months' time, after the outer limit of the current parliamentary term expires."

It is quite obvious that the opposition has been campaigning for the next election, for most of this year, with little intent to participate in governing the nation. No doubt, the expenses incurred have all been borne by we, the taxpayer. But with Dutton's decision to withhold support from Labor's bill to give the minister for Education, the power to set caps on the number of international students. An idea that was spelt out very clearly in his budget reply speech. Whatever we, the voters may think of this issue,it is obvious that the two-party system is nothing but Xenophbic, when it suits them.

Throughout the period of the current government, Dutton has frequently reversed his position on matters of policy, even blatantly lying in parliament. Unfortunately, the Government seems unwilling or even afraid to challenge him or his confederates on those occasions. He even had the temerity to claim that he and his associates would be a competent government. Surely he does not think that we the people, have forgotten the debacle of the previous coalition government and of course "Robodebt"
