The people of Australia or the Parliamentary political parties?
The result of the "Voice to Parliament" referendum clearly demonstrates the fact that the political party system in our federal Parliament continues to fail the Nation. The lies and deceit promulgated by the coalition over this issue illustrates that, despite being involved in the parliamentry debates over the past ten years or so, they had no intention of honouring the non-partisan agreements on this issue.
It is quite clear that , post the last election and the electoral drubbing they received from the voters, they set out to politicise the matter with no compunction and simply to try and embarass the new Labor government.
While the new government is just another political party, it should be accepted that the Prime Minister acted with honour in this matter. Despite being immersed in matters of national import, too much time was wasted in parliament, particularly during Question time when the opposition continually procrastinated adversarially,to interrupt and score inconsequential points. They obviously have no interrest in the running of the Parliament or the Nation. The vested interests of all political parties always results in failing governance.
