This is the title of an article by Stephen Long (senior fellow at The Australia Institute) from last week's "The Saturday Paper." He starts off by referring to a former Reserve Bank Governor and Treasury secretary, Mr. Bernie Fraser saying "He's tired of hearing people saying there's, " one blunt instrument" for dealing with inflation". He goes on to say "It's not true. It's patently wrong. Every inflationary situation has different drivers and requires different solutions- different combinations of solutions."

"Profit gouging, supply shortages, climate change, all these things { are driving inflation}" Our much- vaunted opposition will not be too happy to hear his sentiments. All the nonsense the coalition expounds in parliament is just that- nonsense.

"The RBA's focus on stubborn 'services inflation' is an example" a quote from Michele Bullock the current RBA governor- of 5%. But what represents 'services inflation'? Apparently - "medical and dental costs , insurance and rents". So it's not just food and grocery prices. High rents are really the result of governments allowing the cost of housing to explode over the last 10 or so years. The one factor that most greatly contributes to this problem is the capitalistic 'Negative Gearing'. The fact that our parliamentarians (read party politicians) have, for decades supplemented their incomes with this tax benefit, is why any changes or attempts to remove this taxable feature,

is always voted down. Please don't forget, our parliamentarians have always been generously remunerated. So the average worker/citizens wages, will rarely allow them to enjoy similar benefits.

The article by Stephen Long is a must read for much more information on inflationary pressires.

The simple answer is to reduce our parliamentary costs ,,by removing the political parties who profit from our current system of government which in itself, is hugely inflationary. Help replace party politicions with a parliament of independents selected and voted in by their electorates. We will no longer have low productive

governments, but a highly productive Parliament. Become a member -
