The Prime Minister.

While the Labor Party has commenced it's current tenancy of Government in a manner that is dragging the Nation forward, it must be said that it is leaving a number of sectors wanting.

There is no doubt that our Prime Minister is doing a very good job so far, particularly in the way he, with the help of our Foreign Minister, has confronted world affairs. It is a pleasant change to be able to refer to them both as OUR ministers as opposed to the way we the voters tend to think (negatively) about our elected members. Despite the failure of the referendum he deserves applause for his brave effort on this issue.

Unfortunately the governments actions on climate change appear disjointed. While Minister Bowen seems to be moving in the right direction they (the Party) are not addressing the real issue of coal, oil and gas extraction. Apparently, under the auspices of the Minister for the environment, they have waved through the extension of the "Gregory Crinum coalmine" in Queensland and in addition a total of 740 coal, oil and gas projects. Of these, 555 projects were given the green light without any detailed assessment of their environmental impact.

As a government charged with the ultimate responsibility of managing our financial and treasury needs they also have the responsibility of the national future. In other words the international demand to support earthly climate change to avert world wide disastor. On this issue the government has to ask the nation how we the people require them to manage our future budgets while addressing the absolute need to comply with world scientific climate change demands.

We ,as a Nation, have to face the fact that we have to put a stop to ALL demands by the mining/extractive industries to pursue their rampant capitalistic pleas which are driven solely by one word GREED. There will no doubt be need to mine certain minerals in the future but those needs must be assessed environmentally and for the good of our Nation. Not just for profit.

These will be matters to be decided by the Nation ie, voters and not the political parties. They have proven that they cannot be trusted to such decisions. A parliament of independents, sworn to act at all times in the National interrest will be the way of the future.
