The new climate denial.

I have borrowed the above title from the article in last weeks"Saturday Paper" by John Hewson and will quote excerpts from it.
Over at least the last two decades, the major parties have continually faught to deny the future of climate change, refusing to accept the certainty of what is to come. Neither has been prepared to address the issue while accusing each other of their policy failings. There is no doubt the coalition has been the most obstructive and we all know the reasons. First and foremost, looking after the vested interrest of their mining and fossil fuel friends. Labor ,however has aquiesed to the demands of their Union members (particularly the coal industry) and to hell with the interrests of humanity. To quote John Hewson "The climate wars may be over, but the battle continues. Now the climate deniers have become renewables deniers."
The opposition is continuing to try to undermine the governments efforts to transition to renewables with baseless misrepresentations, false scaremongering and just plain
lies. "Clearly the the government's decision wasn't taken in a vacuum- it was made against the background of the failures of its coalition predecessors to develop an effective energy policy" despite numerous attempts. And so it goes!
With a parliament of independent members committed to running the Country in the interrest of the NATION, we may have reached an effective target of net-zero emmissions by 2050, or better.
