The Elephant in the Room.

The budget just handed down, while reasonable by recent budgets, is still a work in progress.


While the response by the leader of the (so called) opposition Mr. Peter Dutton is predictable, both sides of the house continue to avoid the fact that the Nation has to confront the issue of stopping or at least limiting the fossil fuel industry. If we are to achieve even the moderate emissions target propagated by the current Government, we the nation have to embrace this minimal action.

Our parliament has yet to face the fact that while essential for the the good of the nation, the reduced revenue that will result from the slowing of fossil fuel extraction is inevitably going to have to be accommodated in future budgets. Parliament and (we) the Nation must face this this situation and immediately commence preparation for this financial privation.


We cannot continue to ignore this fact " The Elephant in the Room"
