The article in this weeks edition of "The Saturday post" by Rick Morton titled "The robodebt response" brings to mind that the Labor government is just another political party. Apparently they are trying to ignore recommendation no. 27 from the report of Commissioner Catherine Holmes into the Robodebt enquiry, which is that "section 34 of the FOI act be repealed".

It has been said that the "robodebt scheme" was a gross betrayal to those citizens targeted by the scheme and the subsequent use of the FOI act by the previous governments should be considered at least "malpratice" if not criminal. Now the new Albanese government, a political party, is trying to avoid pursuing this recommendation because they are not prepared to face such a limitation, at some time in the future, should it want to use the provision for their own machinations.. The parties are always prepared to use these means to avoid transparency to we the voters.
