An article in this weeks "The Saturday Post" titled "clearly absurd" and then " Bottom of the pork barrel " alludes to the Commonwealth Governments(recent and Current) practice of making and or granting monies to a variety of funds such as Commonwealth grants or federal grants, proposed at the discretion of Ministers with little or no bureaucratic/ treasury in put.

A scathing report by the Australian National Audit Office in June 2021, found the selection process was designed to be NOT open or transparent. Professor Anne Twomey quite clearly calls pork barrelling "corrupt" unlike a former NSW state premier who reportedly stated it was not, because everyone is doing it?

Thankfully that premier is no longer in Government but she was right, all political parties have subscribed to this philosophy since Federation. A Parliament of individual independent members selected by their electorates and sworn to act in the interest of their electorate and no other vested interest will prevent such corruption in the future.

In other words "True Democracy"
