A parliamentry practice inhereted from the old world. However, in an article by Rick Morton in this weeks "Saturday Paper. titled "Supermarket forces" he comments about a statement by David Littleproud, the leader of the National party and i quote "David Littleproud told The Saturday Paper he had been urging Andrew Leigh to bring forward the code review and make it mandatory. Late last year, the Nationals leader says, he also began pushing for the Albanese government to trigger a price monitoring review."

Could this be just another form of lobbying?

Strange, he apparently never proposed these matters to his coalition partners while they were in government!!

Lobbying has never been acceptable or recognised as a necessary part of parliamentry practice, despite claims by some, particularly the political parties. Unfortunately Yee fui ng a senior lecturer, department of law, Moansh University, in a particular report makes a number of valid observations. However, he opens his paper with a statement "Although lobbying is integral to democratic representation, there are concerns regarding the undue influence of professional lobbyists." My comment is lobbying has never been integral to democracy. It has only become integral to parliaments, with the advent of political parties and there reliance upon it, as a source of false (corrupt) funding. The fact that Australia's parliaments have instituted numerous enquiries and reviews into the regulation of lobbying practices, says a lot!
