An article by Dr. Bob Brown in this weeks edition of "The Saturday Paper" is demonstrating, once again, how our two party system is failing the nation. The current Labor government is displaying their true colours. The prime Minister , Anthony Albanese was recently in southern Tasmania at the invitation of Tassal Group one of the three (now) foreign owned Salmon farmers. Originally Australian owned, and growing, they were confronted by our environmental laws and protesters. Having been found they had to comply with Tasmanian government environment issues, requireing improved sustainable practices. Apparently all of these demands were valid at the time but expensive to remediate.

About 2022, the company was taken over by a Canadiam company "Cooke Aquaculture". Since aquirring the operation they have continued to expand the operations, apparently with the support of the Tasmainion Government, despite ongoing protests and significant local objection.

Mr. Albanese's excuse for his visit in support of Tassal was because he supported jobs. As prime Minister he should be concerned for jobs ,but equally for our environmental concerns and listen to the advice of scientific evidence. Destroying any of our natural resources is not justifiable, whatever the cost. Tasmania is our most valuable resource.

A parliament of independent members, sworn to look after our environment in the interrests of the people is what we need.
