An article in last weeks "The Satusday Paper by Jane Caro is not just presient but overdue. There is no doubt that the continual failing of our education system is because our party political system currently in use to gain Government, results in the poor quality of our so called public education.
There is little doubt that while ever we allow party politics to prevail, we will never achieve the equaliity in education that is essential. The lobbying of the religous sector that leads to the huge subsidies paid to private schools and selective colleges must stop.
Those parents who insist on segregation of schooling of the so called elite to the less fortunate among us, will never enable Australia to arrive at a desired level of 80 per cent of population. Once again it is the political parties who insist on maintaining the egregious lobbying system that has been allowed to infect our political system of government. A house of Parliament, both reps. and Senate filled, with independent MP's commited to the running of government for the benefit of the people and not self or party interrest, will bring about the changes needed.
Becoming a member of the grassroots "Movement for Better Government" will eventually achieve these aims.
