Dutton set to revive Indigenous placenames fight.

The article in this week's "The Saturday Paper" by Karen Barlow, titled as above, is another must- read.

Once again we are reminded of Dutton's innate racism. It is obvious that he has been campaigning since the 21st of May 2022, using all forms of lies and deceit to attack the current government. Among other issues, he had politicised the decision by the Prime Minister to initiate the referendum of the "Voice to Parliament", knowing full well, that the meetings attended by numerous Indigenous leaders at Uluru over the period that the coalition

was in power, with supposedly bipartisan support and financed by treasury, was to be pursued by whoever was the government. A contentious matter was to be put to the people in a non- political referendum. The coalition immediately reneged, converting the matter with basically racist policies designed to derail the issue into a divisive, nation- splitting matter without any concern for those of our nation who are to this day, repressed and ignored. The undoubted fact that a significant part of our white nation are bigoted racists, while others are fence sitters, enabled by the coalition to avoid their responsibilities, to lead to the final result. One only has to trust, that in the course of time, our multicultural society will amend that divisive state of mind. Praise be?

While it can be argued that" welcomes to country" and "smoking ceremonies" are becoming irritating to the general population and could be limited in application , dual or changing of names under certain conditions could be seen as culturally inviting to our origins. After all we Australians, surely cannot deny the First Nations as the original inhabitants and their rightful place in our society. Unfortunately, it is the political parties that have rejected these people, almost from the beginning of white settlement. The constant bickering of the parties both in and out of parliament is totally non- productive. One only has to listen to or watch question time in parliament,to recognise how poor our governing is now and has been at least since the second world war, to realise that we need to remove all political parties ( even the minors) from parliament and replace them with independents selected and nominated by their individual electorates. These parliamentarians will always be representatives of the people, not politicians. With the support of The Movement for Better Government, those independents will be able to form government and the necessary ministries, to answer to the needs of the nation.

The Senate will become the senior house enabling the formalisation of Government, while Senators will not be allowed to aspire to government. The senate will advise the nation and assist in the appointment of future Governors General or hopefully Presidents. Become a member.

While we are forced to continue with the current two- party system for the coming election, lets hope the voters make the right decicion?
