Beg, borrow or teal.

The article by MIKE Seccombe in "the Saturday Paper" dated to April 4, titled : "How Albanese's late election sent the teals broke" is a stretch of the truth.

The apparent fact that they and their financial supporter "Climate 200" decided that the government was to call the next election, as locked in for April 12, was their false judgment. Not Mr Albanese or the government.

As much as we admire the success of the teals, it is they who are pursuing seats in parliament ,under the political regime that applies in Australia and has since Federation.

We should not subscribe to the current profligate method of challenging or competing to gain seats. Necessitating the raising of $millions of dollars, to play the political parties at their own game. A game that they have created and fostered for decades. It is this reason that elections are so hugely expensive, because it gives the parties the excuse to beg and borrow from vested interest friends, knowing that they will repay their generosity, in spades. But of course, it is we the, taxpayers who have to fund this corrupt activity every election time. The Nation has to wake up to the fact that we are funding, legal corruption. The cost of governing our Nation is huge, only because the so-called two-party system has ensured this status. Removing the political parties from government would save the nation $billions of dollars every year. But we don't have to replace them with independents, utilising the same corrupt methods. What we have to do is resort to the principles of the "Movement for Better Government", which is a grassroots established Movement and website. Offering an alternative not- for -profit(no fee) method of replacing all,or any parties, with a parliament of independent members, selected by the members (MBG) of each individual electorate. Those candidates selected and supported by their electorate, would be answerable to their electorate, as well as the nation.Having signed a declaration to their electorate, of their honest, good intentions as members of parliament, they would never accept any monies or payment of any sort ,in support of vested interest. The only time that members of the MBG would be asked for monies, would be by donation. This,to fund the very limited costs, necessary to support the (very) minimal costs, associated with electioneering at polling stations, of each electorate. In other words, a self funding non political movement. Become a member : www.movementforbettergovernement.com.au
