Australian Governments suck up to Japanese fossil fuel companies.

The above reference is to a report put out by australianinstitute.org.au. Once again we discover that a foreign owned company "Inpex" an associate of "Santos" has had assurances from our Governments (state,territory and Federal) as to ongoing access to our fossil fuel resources.

It is bad enough that we continue to ,not only allow but encourage, the extraction of these materials, knowing full well the negative effects to climate change. What is worse, is the information that this group have since 2013-14 to 2021-22, 9 years, been given this fuel at NO charge. They apparently pay no royalties and during the aforesaid period have achieved total income of just inder $42 billion while paying a total tax bill of $120 million. Apart from the lack of royalties they have paid NO Petroleum Resource Rent Tax (PRRT). In other words 0.3% of their income. What fool government signed such a deal in 1998. Like it or not, the issues of Climate Change and the scientific evidence thereto was well known before that year.
