Australia's political Espionage.

When will the Nation wake up to the fact that the political party (Westminster) system we adopted at the time of Federation has failed us and continues to do so?
The history of party corruption, lies and deceit, is well documented, regularly in our media but also in the Parliamentary record that is Hansard.
Despite the fact that parliamentarians are supposed, at all times, to operate, debate and discuss matters and issues in the interrests of the Nation, they almost invariably act within the interrest of their parties and particularly, in the vested interrest of their financial backers and donors.
While Australia retains possibly the best, if not THE best electoral system in the world, we the voters subscribe by blindly allowing this state of affairs to continue.
In recent times, the verbal adversarial actions that are implicit during parliamentary sittings, have become almost a form of political espionage. One only has to listen to question time in parliament or read the press to hear comments by the opposition that are designed to embarrass the government of the day. Unfortunately they also send a message to other governments that are not in our national interrest and even undermine our status in the world. Mind you, our national media are equally guilty.
