ASIC - white - collar Trouble?

John Hewson's article in The Saturday Post a couple of weeks ago titled "Trouble in white- collar paradise" is so salient and current. Why oh why,do we have to have a parliamentary joint committee Enquiry into the failings of ASIC.

Post the Royal Commission into the Banking sector we were clearly informed how ASIC had NOT performed it's duties for most of it's existance. In fact it seemed it had failed miserably to enforce action and initiate court proceedings, that could have resulted in criminal penalties on persons and organisations. The Hayne Royal commission seemed quite assured of this fact. Yet nothing resulted and why? Quite simple! Governments in office, of both political persuasions were too complacent, even afraid to challenge these organisations to carry out their duties. Proving once again that our party politicians will do anything to avoid doing their respective jobs. Just another example of why we need to remove all political parties and replace them with committed independent Parliamentarians.
