The article by Paul Bongiorno in this week's "The Saturday Paper" titled as above is as one would expect from Mr. Bongiorno an excellent read but also an illustration of our parliamentary shenanigans. The so-called two-party system operating as it always does, whether or not Parliament is sitting. Just one example "in answering a gotcha question from Deputy Liberal Leader Sussan Ley, Attorney General Mark Dreyfus finished his lengthy answer, saying (pointing to the opposition) you are disgusting." Liberal member Michael Sukkar then jumped to his feet moving that Dreyfus "no longer be heard" The entire cross bench voted with the government to defeat the misconceived gag.

This is just one further example of how we are governed as a nation. If and when we the people, ever replace the benighted Party's with a parliament house filled with Independent members,we will not only be better governed but will save the nation billions of dollars, annually.
