After the vote

The article by Thomas Mayo in last weeks "Saturday Post" titled"After the vote"on the subject of the failed referendum is both moving and disturbing for its pure honesty. Those who pursued the YES campaign have nothing to be ashamed,of but extreme dissappointment prevails. Thomas goes on to say and I quote "An honest assessment compels me to mention Opposition Leader Peter Dutton as well. Dutton has shown he is bereft of the qualities held by the Indigenous Leaders I have worked with. He is well short of the calibre of his opposite, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese." A further quote

"None of this is bitterness on my part, just truth. Peter Dutton chose politics over outcomes. His career came before fairness. He sought victory at any cost"

Not much more needs be said except that the comments equally apply to his consort, the Leader of the National Party. If or when we become governed by a Parliament of Independent members, we will arrive at true democracy.
