The article by Kurt Johnson in this weeks " The Saturday Paper" shows clearly how we have been conned by Japan. Apart from the fact that we are basically giving our gas away ,they are in effect competing with us by exporting the gas we are supplying at low or no cost via a hub established to distribute our gas to other regions such as Singapore.

Australia has got to stop initiating any new fossil fuel activities , yet Japan and others would expect us to keep supplying ,despite the future emmissions we would be guilty of. If however the Nations of the world demand we should keep supplying for the benefit of mankind, then surely Australia should be entitled to a reasonable return.

The next question is which damn fool politician or party, while in government, signed such agreements that apparently, give us so little return.

Independent Senator David Pocock is quoted as saying " I'm a little bit concerned were getting conned"

Perhaps as a sitting senator, David pocock could ascertain which of our two party governments signed these sort of agreements in the past. As in the past with our much-lauded "Free trade agreements".

Independent parliamentarians such as David and the newly elected "Teals" are rapidly demonstrating the importance of their functions in our current parliament. A Parliament occupied entirely by independents ,sworn to the highest level of integrity and answerable to their electorate rather than parties with vested interests, would certainly provide better government
