William /Rinehart /Hearst
The above title emanates from an article in the June 12/2026 edition of "The Saturday Paper" by Mike Seccombe. The actual title was "An obsessive part of the vision" Inside Rinehart's media buy-up.
While its subject matter is almost entirely about Gina Rinehart and her father's latent ambitions to buy control of our media and political mastery of our government, it should be recognised for the similarity of how the current TRUMP presidency of the USA was installed, by a cohort of ruthless American "billionaires" corruptly gaining control of the American "Supreme Court".The Government of the USA, has always been obscenely, at the behest of the greedy, rampant capitalists, reaching a crescendo at this time. The explosion of the so-called "tech" billionaires at this time is only adding to the capitalist influence that is not just breeding fear and contempt for the vast number of working people in the USA , but also, all around the world. The corruption of their system is so endemic that it is causing a growing awareness, that the USA is no longer a world leader. And about time!
Unfortunately, we Australians have to wake up to the realisation that, we are affected by the same delusory idea, that capitalism is the only way to operate government. There is no doubt, that a few good legislative decisions have been arrived at over the past 70 or so years, but in the main, many have been arrived at, at the benefit of our so- called "two- party system. As a result, the cost of government, that is the cost of running our Parliament and the Nation, has arrived at many billions of dollars each year. Our political masters have successfully created a "gravy train" of dollars for their own interests and lifestyles.
The fact that Australia's richest woman, who inherited her fortune and displays little or nothing for the interests of our Nation, but contempt, will deliberately behave in this manner for the rest of her despicable life. Australia beware?
A Parliament of independent members, selected and voted for by each electorate, acting always, only in the interest of the people, will give us better government.
